Then there's the fact Daddy left me and Mommy for three whole weeks while he traipsed halfway around the globe -- to some place (obviously a made-up name) called China. I'm sure he feels guilty about the fact we were here eating mac-and-cheese three nights a week while he was dining on Peking Duck and gourmet donkey meat (editor's note: don't ask) at fancy Chinese restaurants and staying at four-star hotels (editor's note: totally not true). I've also seen photographic evidence, some of which I'll include below, that seems to indicate he was cheating on me with other kids while climbing some stupid wall in the mountains.
Finally, there's the prospect of my second birthday coming up on Sept. 11. Everyone seems to be making a big deal about it around here and trying to get me excited about it, but right now I'm still dealing with the alarming realization that my age has doubled in one year. I sure hope that trend does not continue -- I don't want to be 32 by the time I'm six. (I also want to point out that if this sort of thing happened to Daddy, he'd be almost 80 next year!)
With that, here are some pictures of cuteness personified:
We took a little road trip to this awesome joint called Sesame Place. I got to see Elmo do his show in person and get my picture made with Cookie Monster (this purple dude, whose name I don't even know, kind of horned in on this photo, but whatever), and I also went down a whitewater-raft ride with Mommy and Daddy (a little scary).
Here's me and Mommy getting ready for Elmo to take the stage.
Riding on a choo-choo train. Choo choo!!
Blue slide. Climb up, slide down. Repeat.
Just hanging around Sesame Place.
Checking out the view from the top of the Patterson Park pagoda with Daddy.Oh, forgot to mention. Got my bangs cut the other day -- officially, my first haircut. Not sure what to make of this yet. Seems like we may be bringing back the mullet here.
Bonus Beijing photo: Daddy hanging out with Chairman Mao.
Bonus Beijing photo: Daddy cheating on me with other kids in China. Not sure what's up with that gang sign they're flashing.
That's all for now, folks. More photos after my birthday party. It's going to be epic.
Love,
Lucinda

Thanks for the update, Lucinda. You keep getting cuter and cuter.
Sorry I just missed you that night at the All-Star gala. I'll have my people talk to your people (including the ones on the way) and we'll try to get everyone hooked up sometime.
Until then, peace out.
Joe C.
